What to Bring
You will need a swimming suit, towel, and a change of clothes for after your lesson. For all children under the age of 4, you will need a disposable swim diaper in addition to a re-usable swim diaper on top of that. This is a requirement even if your child is already toilet trained. You may also purchase goggles, caps, and swim diapers in our Fish Market.
What To Expect
Come and check in at the office on your first day. After that, you’ll know your routine! If your child is not yet dressed for class, take them into the changing area in front of the pool. Place your bag/clothes in a cubby and dress your swimmer while they watch a water-related, or seasonal Charlie Brown video clip. Once you’re ready, grab your child and a towel and sit on one of the benches around the pool. Your instructor will call out the student’s name when they are ready. They’ll ask you a few questions, talk to you and your child a bit, and then it’s time to get wet! You may want to let your child play in the play area before their lesson, to “wet” their appetite for swimming. Don’t be discouraged if there is a bit of crying – it’s a new experience and most children aren’t sure of what to expect. Over time they will trust their teacher and know that they come back to you at the end of their lesson.
Billing: Billing takes place on the first of every month unless the 1st is on a Saturday, Sunday, or a holiday that we are closed. Tuition prices are always a flat rate based on 4 weeks. If you get an extra fifth lesson, we do not charge any extra. If you get less than 4 lessons, we do not pro-rate the tuition.
Registration Fee: Each family enrolling for the first time will be charged a registration fee of $50. Re-enrolling families will be charged a fee of $40.
Cancellations: As long as you cancel by 8AM the day of your lesson you will receive a make-up in your file to be scheduled by you, and it never expires. They can be reschedule as long as your are still enrolled in lessons. If you decided to drop out of lessons, office staff must be notified before the 1st of the month to ensure you are not billed. We do not do any refunds.
Make-Ups: Your make-ups never expire, and we keep track of them for you. We can only schedule make-ups in advance within the current month. We do not reschedule already set up make-ups. You have to be currently enrolled in order to schedule makeups.
Late: If you arrive late to your lesson you will only receive what is left in your lesson.
Pool Closures: When there is a fecal matter accident in the pool we have to exit the pool to clean, and you will receive a make-up that never expires. If our equipment (i.e. filter, heater) causes a pool closure, or one of our instructors is out sick and we do not have a substitute, we will cancel your lesson and you will receive a credit to come off next months’ tuition.
Absent Instructor: We do not notify our customers when their teacher is out sick, however we do provide a substitute. We believe the consistency of the lessons is most important to a child’s success, and we want our kids to be Watersafe with everyone not just their favorite instructor. If upon arrival you decide you would prefer not to swim with a substitute you may cancel your lesson and receive a make-up that never expires.
Play Time: Enrolled students are allowed to play in the designated play area for 10 minutes before their lesson. There is NO play time after lessons.
